I remember that Grandpa always had his knife on him...  As young kids, we knew it and if we ever needed something to be cut or opened, he was there.  Around the house, we would carry a folding knife in his pocket or on his belt.  When I got older, come hunting season, he would carry a straight blade which he used to show me how to dress out a deer.  My love for knives came from seeing him use and care for his own collection of classic, quality knives.
